Abteen Bagheri is an Iranian-American writer-director based in Los Angeles, born and raised in the San Fernando Valley. He works across commercials, branded entertainment, music film, narrative, and documentary. He earned a 2011 UK Music Video Awards Best New Director nomination for A$AP Rocky’s “Peso” and premiered the short documentary THAT B.E.A.T. at Sundance 2012 (SXSW 2014 competition). In 2023 he won UKMVA Best Hip Hop Video for Benjamin Earl Turner’s “HEADSPACE/Bent,” a 16mm buddy crime piece built around a seven-foot Studio Gillis animatronic; prior Turner work includes the guerrilla Detroit shoot “JA RULE.” Narrative promo work includes Kodaline’s “Ready” starring Christopher Mintz-Plasse. Commercial credits include Samsung’s Galaxy tenth-anniversary centerpiece “More of Us” for Wieden+Kennedy/Somesuch (2019), Crown Royal x NFL’s “Kick Off with Crown” featuring Ed Reed (35mm, Anomaly/Love Song), Mercedes-Benz “Pieces” starring Alicia Keys, Lexus “Names,” Built Ford Proud series spots, Loewe x Paula’s Ibiza “Spanish Holiday” (iPhone printed to 35mm), plus Apple, Google, Oculus, and Smirnoff. After Somesuch and Love Song, he signed to RadicalMedia (US/UK) in October 2023; Serial Pictures now represents him for commercial, branded entertainment, and music film.
