Adeel Shamsi is a Toronto-based writer-director who left full-time work in 2017 after years of self-taught filmmaking that began with music videos. Represented in Canada by Alfredo Films, he works across sports, comedy, and documentary commercials. His longest client run is with QSR brand Osmow’s, including TSN and Euro 2021 spots, the 2022 FIFA World Cup comedy “Habibi,” athlete films with soccer star Cyle Larin and NHL player Ryan O’Reilly, 2024 garlic-sauce cult comedy covered by LBB, and Super Bowl airings—the 2025 spot “Love at First Bite” and a 2023 Super Bowl ad. Heartfelt cause work includes Zabiha Halal’s “Dear Canada”/“Sharing Halal” (Alfredo Films, 2023), a stripped-back real-voices film on identity and Islamophobia that Freshman reports surpassed 12 million views, plus IDRF films, Islamic Relief’s “Domino Effect,” and OVC’s “Every Child Counts.” Comedy craft continues with TurboTax spots “Side Hustles” (with Nav Bhatia), “Rookie Mistake,” “Fear of Taxes,” and “Taxes On Your Time.” Other portfolio clients include Nike (“All Day”), Bosch (“Like a Bosch”), Mastercard, TD, OLG x GTJ, Riipen, and Naan Burrito.
