Ali Ali is an Egyptian commercial director and co-founder of Good People Films, named by The Gunn Report as one of the top ten most awarded film directors in the world and by Adweek as one of the ten most influential advertising directors globally. His directorial debut in 2010, "Never Say No To Panda" for Panda Cheese, became one of the most-watched viral campaigns of all time with over 100 million views and won a Cannes Gold Lion. Since then he has directed more than seventy commercials for Vodafone, Google, Coca-Cola, Budweiser, Amazon, Heineken, Tesla, Diesel, Du Telecom, Lavazza, and Rolling Stone Magazine. His work earned four D&AD Yellow Pencils for Direction (including Du Telecom in 2015), over eight Cannes Gold Lions (including Diesel "Be a Follower" in 2019 and Heineken "The Night is Young" around 2020), and a Gold at The One Show 2020. He served as Jury President for Direction at the 2021 D&AD Awards, sat on the Cannes Lions Film Jury in 2023, and was named President of the Cannes Lions Film Craft jury for 2025. Ali's process balances bold creative risk with resourceful craft; during the pandemic he directed Rolling Stone's "Rockin' Mamas" on a 15,000 euro budget, casting mothers from his daughter's nursery and shooting in their homes, winning a Cannes Gold Lion.
