Bio & background

Alina Montero is a Mexico City–raised commercial director whose brand films combine documentary authenticity with cinematic craft she describes as magical realism. Born into a filmmaking family—her father is director Rafael Montero and her sister is cinematographer Leslie Montero—she studied communication and cinema at Universidad Iberoamericana. She is known for emotionally resonant spots shot in real homes with real people, enriched by intentional lighting and poetic touches such as slow push-ins and beams of light. Her 2022 Cholula “La Familia”/“Mother of Sauce” campaign for Fitzco, produced by Easy Mondays with DP Matt Chavez, centered kitchens and shared tables with naturalistic food craft. Parallel CPG work includes Kraft “Your Recipe, Your Family,” KFC “Mealtime Rules,” Quaker “The Way You Like It” and “Unconditional Like You,” and FUD with María Sánchez. Coca-Cola Mexico’s “Shades of Red” (agency DAVID Madrid, Stink Mexico) won a Gold Lion and multiple Bronze Lions at Cannes Lions 2025; other Coca-Cola films include “Contigo Aprendí” (2025) and “Closer Than We Think” (2019). Additional clients include Pacifico, Sidral Mundet, OtterBox, WhatsApp, Google, Toyota, and Corona. She has directed Eugenio Derbez and Carlos Rivera and collaborates with cinematographers including Oscar winner Benjamin Echazarreta. Representation spans Easy Mondays (U.S.), Dear Friend (West Coast/Canada), and Stink Films.
