Bharat Nalluri is a BAFTA- and Emmy-nominated British filmmaker, born in Guntur, India, and based in Sydney. He built his career launching UK television, directing the pilot of BBC’s Spooks (MI-5) and early work on Hustle, Life on Mars, and Torchwood, with 14 pilots and first episodes to his credit. U.S. series credits include The 100, Emily Owens M.D., and Apple TV+’s Little America. He received a Primetime Emmy nomination for Outstanding Directing on HBO’s Tsunami: The Aftermath. Recent long-form work includes directing and executive-producing Netflix’s Boy Swallows Universe (2024), which took a record 12 AACTA Awards including Best Miniseries and Best Direction in Drama; directing and EP duties on Apple TV+’s Shantaram (2022); and episodes of Last Days of the Space Age (2024). Features include The Man Who Invented Christmas (2017) and Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day. He is directing the 2026 family mystery Flavia, starring Martin Freeman, Toby Jones, and Jonathan Pryce.
