Bio & background

Brigg Bloomquist is a Los Angeles-based commercial director specializing in narrative storytelling with a comedic edge, currently working with Riff Raff Films in the US and UK, Steam Films in Canada, Curate Films in the UK, and Gloria Krass Agency in Germany. He began his career animating for the Houston Astros' Jumbotron before transitioning to advertising as a copywriter, then directing. This dual background in visual design and narrative craft remains evident in his work—he draws his own storyboards and approaches each project with a keen understanding of both written idea and visual execution. His immersion in Chicago's improv comedy world further sharpened his instincts for performance, timing, and spontaneity. Bloomquist has directed campaigns for Apple (extensive RBC co-branded series including "Dance," "Pizza," "Restaurant," "Laundry," and "I Got This"), Nike ("No Angel"), LEGO ("Keep Building," covered by Adweek in 2014 as an inspiring ad for girls), and SERVPRO (the VFX-heavy "Declassified" series featuring mythical creatures via BUNTIN and Bob Industries). He won Emmy Awards for his Chicago Blackhawks campaigns "Hockey Hair" and "Roar" (both 2021), and a Gail Award (Gold) and Anthem Award for the Ladd Foundation's 1616 Initiative, a 16-episode mental health documentary series interviewing hockey players. His work has appeared in Communication Arts, Creativity, Shoot, and Shots magazines. Bloomquist has directed campaigns in over thirteen countries and worked with talent ranging from children to celebrities (including NFL legend Peyton Manning) to animals, once shooting with a grizzly bear at uncomfortably close range.
