Charles Frank is an Emmy-nominated documentary and commercial director and co-founder of Brooklyn production company Voyager (with Andrew Hutcheson) and post studio Leap Year. Raised in rural Massachusetts, he began making films as a child, met Hutcheson at 16 while PAing a college thesis feature, and formalized Voyager around age 20 after a gap-year Hasbro contest win that yielded a nationally aired spot. Independent work includes Junk Mail, My Baby You’ll Be, the feature Somewhere With No Bridges, the New Yorker–presented OCD short Lost In My Mind (2024), and Shanti Rides Shotgun (SXSW 2025). Nike-sponsored Through the Storm (2024), co-directed with Fritz Bitsoie for the N7 Initiative, followed the Red Lake Nation football team, premiered in prime time on NFL Network, won Big Sky’s Artistic Vision Award, and earned a Sports Emmy nomination for Outstanding Short Documentary. Commercial credits include Jack Daniel’s (Make it Count), McDonald’s, DICK’s Sporting Goods, Callaway (Rez Golf), Tequila Don Julio with Anomaly (a :30 cast with real restaurant workers), and early Hasbro. He works almost exclusively with real people through a documentary-rooted approach. He is signed to Steam Films for exclusive Canadian representation while based with Voyager in Brooklyn.
