Chris Hewitt is a self-taught commercial director, photographer, and creative technologist currently working with Knucklehead in the US and UK, where he also serves as Creative Director of Airhead, the company's director-led AI studio. Originally from Oldham, UK, Hewitt taught himself animation, graphic design, and photography before relocating to London and then Los Angeles, where he is now based. A double Cannes Lion and Clio award winner, his work spans major global brands including Mercedes, Nike, Audi, Apple, Samsung, Intel, and MG Motors. His visual style is characterized by dark, cinematic, and provocative imagery grounded in his background as a still photographer. Hewitt pioneered hybrid AI and live-action production with MG Motors' "The Pentathlete" campaign, seamlessly blending real footage with AI-generated athletic vignettes. He uses node-based AI tools like ComfyUI and Flora while maintaining that AI should enhance, not replace, traditional craft and storytelling. Beyond commercial work, Hewitt has directed music videos for Warp Records and Erased Tapes artists and created art films featured at festivals including One Dot Zero and Lumen Eclipse. He rejoined Knucklehead in December 2019 after previously helping define the company's creative identity early in his career.
