Christine Bortolin is a Vancouver-based commercial director and comedian working with Kiddo Films in Vancouver and Toronto. She built her craft performing and producing comedy across North America—live shows between stand-up and performance art built on twists, unexpected reveals, and subverted expectations—and channels those instincts into commercials, short-form branded content, and music videos, with a collaborative set culture that keeps humour available. In May 2024 LBB named her among Canada’s best and brightest rising directors. Her standout cited project is CBC Gem’s The Slowest Show (2021), co-written and directed with Bita Joudaki: a single-shot, 24-minute ice-rink episode around a continuously rotating centre-ice camera, nearly dialogue-free, mixing scripted beats with heavy improv and using camera movement to time comic reveals on the ice and in the stands. Commercial credits include Government of BC (Here Be Monsters / Kiddo), Health-Ade, K-Days, Pacific Salmon Foundation, Formstack, and the Webby Award–winning Explore Seattle Southside “Micro-Adventures” travel series (2024). The through-line is comedy-forward storytelling with public-service and lifestyle range, grounded in performance craft rather than heavy VFX.
