Daniel Kaufman is a director with Anonymous Content (US) and Merchant (Canada) working in commercials, branded content, music videos, and documentary. He began in documentary—including early work camping with nuns in rural Haiti and cinematography on human-rights films—then moved into music videos via Atlantic Records–connected jobs before cold-emailing Mark Romanek, which led to his Anonymous Content signing. Romanek executive-produced Kaufman’s feature doc Stone Mountain, Grand Jury Prize winner at Doc NYC 2024 and a Mountainfilm selection. Other long-form credits include Can’t Stop, Won’t Stop: The Bad Boy Story (Tribeca; MTV Movie + TV Award nominee) and the Spotify original series I’m With the Banned (Cannes Lions Titanium nominee; two Creative Arts Emmy nominations). Evidenced branded/commercial work includes Adidas “Recode Running” and a Capella University project serviced in Toronto by Merchant. Variety and the LA Times have described his work as masterful, intimate, and movingly transparent. In 2026 Merchant signed him for Canadian representation, with EP Ian Webb citing his humanity and warmth for advertising.
