Doug Werby is a DGA commercial director, editor, and producer based in Berkeley, California, represented in the U.S. by Kaboom Productions and handling non-commercial and loan-out work through Ballistic Pictures Inc. Kaboom positions him for docu-style branded work built on performance and imagery, including authentic performances from Fortune 500 leaders, Special Olympics athletes, and people on the street; he frequently directs and edits. His Bank of America × Special Olympics “Chevi” campaign for Hill Holiday received two Clio Sports medals and Gold Cause Marketing Halo Awards (2016). Other honors include a D&AD award for New Pickle Family Circus, a 20th Anniversary Gold Telly, Addy and Ad Club recognition, and a Toronto International Commercial Film Festival award for Dremel Tools. In 2014 he directed and edited HP/Qualcomm’s five-spot comedic “Wi-Fi Hunters” campaign for Doremus, driven by misdirection, casting contrast, and improvisation. Tech and product clients include Google Fiber, Logitech, Sage, Adobe, Amazon (2023 entrepreneur how-to films and “Four P’s of Marketing”), Bill.com, and Salesforce with Stanley Black & Decker. Further work includes Charles Schwab’s real-people “Transitions” series, Wells Fargo day-in-the-life content, NAIC with Rita Moreno, a long Macy’s West broadcast run, Cal Trans’ dry-humored “Don’t Trash California,” Community Hospital of Monterey, AAA Northern California systems, and Front Office Sports’ 2025 “Redefined” launch. He shoots formats from 16mm to 8K and wrote on AI as collaborator for LBB (2025).
