Federico Luis Tachella is a Buenos Aires–born writer-director who has worked in advertising direction since 2015 while building a parallel festival film career. Represented commercially by Sparks Productions, he has directed more than fifty pieces spanning commercials and music videos. His Sparks reel features brand work for Ades (“I Am A Seed”), Villavicencio (“Cimientos”), Exquisita, and Iunigo (“Bebes”). On the film side he moved from the school thesis Vidrios (2013, BAFICI) and Mirko (2018, Argentinian National Endowment for the Arts Audiovisual Award) to La Siesta / The Nap (2019), which won Best Short at BAFICI, played the Official Short Film Competition at Cannes, and took an honorable mention at TIFF. He co-directed the IDFA Best Short Documentary winner At That Very Moment (2023) with Rita Pauls and made his feature debut with Simon of the Mountain (2024), produced with 20/20 Films and co-producers across Argentina, Chile, Mexico, and Uruguay. In 2026 his short Para los contrincantes (For The Opponents) won the Short Film Palme d’Or at the 79th Cannes Film Festival. He studied Social Communication at the University of Buenos Aires.
