Bio & background

Greg Bray is a Berlin-based commercial director from Auckland, New Zealand, known for character-driven comedy that mines awkward, absurd, and bizarre human behaviour. An ex-agency creative who wrote and creative-directed at Lowe Auckland on Vodafone and Burger King, at Leo Burnett in the Middle East, and in Berlin before directing full-time, he focuses on casting and nuanced performance while collaborating closely with agencies. Rubberduck describes his work as character-based humour with nuanced performances; Skin and Bones notes meticulous cinematic worlds that are fun to watch. He has directed comedy for Old Spice, Volkswagen, Subway, Samsung, Veet Men, KFC, Burger King, Skittles, Wrigley, Vodafone, Emirates, Sony, Kayak, Aldi, Swisscom, Lotto24, Oikos, Curly, Brevo, Henkel’s Croc Power Tape, and Ireland’s SEAI. Dated standouts include Kayak’s “What If?” brand film for McCann Manchester (Shots, July 2026), shot practically in-camera for world-building and performance, and SEAI’s “Sean’s Journey” with Rubberduck and Havas Dublin (LBB, October 2025). Other cited work includes Aldi Special Buys “Mary,” KFC “Cravers,” Subway “Sorry Italy,” Veet Men “Tellers of Tall Tales,” and an adrenaline-charged Croc Power Tape launch. Industry write-ups note accolades at Cannes, ADC, and New York Festivals. He is working with Skin and Bones Film for Canada and the U.S. and by Rubberduck in Ireland.
