Ivan Zacharias is a Czech-born commercial director working with SMUGGLER and Stink Films, known for his cinematic craft and narrative-driven storytelling across dystopian thrillers, musical anthems, and epic brand films. A graduate of FAMU Prague who began his career during the Velvet Revolution, Zacharias has directed iconic campaigns for Apple (including the Hitchcock-inspired "Flock" and "Clingers" privacy spots), Honda's sweeping "Impossible Dream," Nike's "Pretty" with Maria Sharapova, and a four-minute Kahlua western starring Jeff Bridges. His meticulous production process includes extensive research (studying bird physiology for Apple, visiting junkyards for metallic sound design), collaboration with Academy Award-winning editor Mikkel E.G. Nielsen and sound designer Gus Koven, and film-stock conversion for rich texture. Winner of six Cannes Lions Golden Lions, the 2011 British Arrows Fellowship Award, and 2024 CICLOPE Director of the Year, Zacharias has also directed acclaimed HBO Europe series "Wasteland" and "The Sleepers." His Upwork musical campaign raised unaided brand awareness over 30% in six months, and his Apple privacy work sparked industry-wide shifts in digital privacy standards.
