Bio & background

James Lovick is a commercials director specializing in food and tabletop work and documentary-rooted brand films. He began in long-form television documentaries before moving into short-form narrative and commercials. LBB has described his work as “cinematically realized human stories,” with documentary filmmaking at the heart of his style. Food credits include Kenwood’s Feed Your Imagination recipe campaign, Baileys commercials with crafted bar and cafe set builds, Anolon X launch TVCs produced remotely from London, Président Cheese, Biotiful Kefir, Dorset Cereals, Mornflake, Jordan’s Granola, Nescafé Azera, Mars/Maltesers baking content, and Nom Nom pet-food spots pairing tabletop with animal performance. Craft signatures include waterproof macro probe lenses for immersive pours and food-action shots. Performance and lifestyle films include Indeed’s Spice Kitchen/Sanjay, Brittany Ferries’ OUI (Best Integrated Campaign, 2022 Travel Awards), Charles Schwab’s Why This Road? (shortlisted for the Shots Young Director Award at Cannes in 2017), Sony’s No More Limits, and Volvo’s Open Water (Environmental Clarion Award). A WWF India film was shortlisted for an Evcom Industry Award. He received an EVCOM Silver Screen Award for cinematography on his Dorset Cereals series.
