Jamie Sisley is a filmmaker and commercial director represented in the U.S. by Onion Creek Productions, working between Los Angeles and New York. He holds an M.F.A. in Film from Columbia University, a B.S. in Business from the University of Virginia, and serves on the faculty of American University’s School of Communication. His feature Stay Awake (writer/director) premiered in the Berlinale Generation programme in 2022, receiving the AG Kino Gilde Auteur Award and a Crystal Bear/Generation special mention (sources also cite the Cinema Vision 14Plus Award), followed by limited U.S. theatrical release in May 2023. It expands his 2015 short of the same name, which premiered at Berlinale and won a Slamdance Jury Prize and National Board of Review Short Film Prize, and stars Chrissy Metz, Wyatt Oleff, and Fin Argus in a caretaker-point-of-view family drama about prescription-drug addiction. Sisley co-directed the documentary Farewell Ferris Wheel (2016), winner of a Tribeca Film Institute Creative Promise Award and aired nationally on PBS; he also directed a 2018 Sesame Street episode. Roster-credited commercial work includes Seagram’s Gin, Nordstrom, and a series of documentary-style spots for ATO Records.
