Bio & background

John S. Park is a Seoul-based commercial director represented for the US and UK by RSA Films, with QUAD in France and Applebox across Southeast Asia. Raised in Los Angeles after moving from Korea as a child, he studied Visual Communication/Media Design and Philosophy at UCLA and film at ArtCenter College of Design. He works across documentary and scripted forms, directing real people and actors. Signature spots include Samsung’s “What Does Your Mind See?”—intimate films of sight-impaired students that earned Cannes Lions Golds and a Spikes Asia Grand Prix—and Hyundai’s 2015 “A Message to Space,” a Guinness World Record 5.55 km desert tire-track message that ranked among YouTube’s most-watched car spots. His automotive and tech body of work spans Genesis GV60, GV70 and “To New Depths Of Immersion,” Hyundai Santa Fe and CES 2024 Vision, Korean Air’s “Anywhere is Possible,” LG OLED, Samsung Galaxy and Pay, GMC, Hankook Tires with Clayton Kershaw, Peugeot, Singapore Airlines, Chevrolet, Renault, CapitaLand, Ford, and Mr. Pizza’s awarded mockumentary “True Origins of Pizza.” He won Best Director at the Seoul Creative Festival for a Genesis GV60 aurora film shot in northern Norway and founded Addict Films in Seoul.
