Juan Poclava is a Buenos Aires-born commercial director trained at FUC (University of Cinema) and in art history at the Museo de Bellas Artes. He entered the industry as a teenage extra on a Henry Meziat commercial, worked for years as first assistant director for Argentine and visiting filmmakers, and began directing commercials and music videos in 2004. In 2006 he directed the feature Behind the Trees for the North American market and has continued developing a second feature alongside advertising work. Documented campaigns include LG’s 2020 global “What’s your favorite thing?” K-Series film (Pandora Films Sydney, cinematography by Octavio Arias on ARRI Alexa Mini LF/Cooke S7 and Alexa LF with Canon K35 and Mamiya 645), WOM 5G (2022), Doritos “Dog” (2021, AnyGivenDay via Primo Content), Renault, Ripley “Manifiesto,” Heineken “3 minutes to the final” (TBWA Chile, 2014), Gatorade, and LAN/LATAM Airlines. In a 2016 PRODU profile he described keeping a varied reel across super-technical and loose shoots and being drawn to sports commercials. He is listed with Primo Content for LATAM and Europe and, as of February 2024, on the Cultivate.Media U.S. roster.
