Julian Acosta is a commercial and music-driven director whose branded work centers on raw personal storytelling and fluid use of music. Raised in Bakersfield, California, he came up through music videos and documentaries, joined the DGA in 2011, and has directed campaigns for Xfinity, Porsche, Samsung, Delta Air Lines, Fox Sports, Nissan, Jeep, VW, Bose, JBL, Powerade, the Utah Jazz, and Hogle Zoo. His Fox Sports college-football spot Big Noon Energy won an Emmy in 2021. Trade and roster coverage describe rich cinematic visuals paired with an intimate human core, emotional candor, and a poetic-realist approach that bridges cinema and commercial aesthetics. Parallel long-form credits include the HBO-picked-up short What Bitch?, a segment of the Roman Coppola–produced omnibus The Seven Faces of Jane, and episodes of Cathay Film Company’s limited series Coolie. Recent Stadium Creative Group–posted work includes Carry On, using skateboarding to explore adolescence and resilience. He signed with Wild Gift Content for U.S. and global commercial representation in February 2024, after The Directors Bureau and RSA, and also appears on Stadium Creative Group and Primo (LATAM) rosters.
