Bio & background

Kelly Fyffe-Marshall is a Canadian director and screenwriter represented for commercials by Alfredo Films. Her brand work includes Nike’s Play New (2021) and Black&Abroad’s Black Elevation Map (2021), the latter a brand film that won a Cannes Lions 2022 Video Award (Commercial), Gerety Awards 2022 Video Award, Webby 2022 Video Jury Award, and AdColor 2023 Best Video Campaign, with an AdAge 2023 Best Campaign nomination. She co-founded female-led Sunflower Studios and operates Fyffe Films. She broke through with SXSW short Haven (2018) and TIFF 2020 short Black Bodies, winner of the inaugural TIFF Changemaker Award, a Canadian Screen Award for Best Live Action Short Drama, and the Toronto Film Critics’ Jay Scott Prize. Feature debut When Morning Comes (TIFF 2022), drawn from her England-to-Canada immigration story, earned Best Canadian Feature and DGC Discovery nominations. Short OMI (SXSW 2022) took Special Jury Recognition and reached Hulu’s Bite Size Halloween. David Cronenberg selected her for Company 3’s $50,000 post prize; in 2025 she received the Spirit of Cinema Award at IFFK. Television is her busiest recent lane: multi-episode direction on CSA Best Comedy winners Bria Mack Gets A Life and Children Ruin Everything, plus Pretty Hard Cases, Robyn Hood, and 2025 TV movies for OWN/HBO Max and The CW. She frequently collaborates with DP Jordan Oram.
