Leo Zuckerman is a Canadian commercial director whose book centers on automotive, action-sports, and visually driven brand films. Raised in Montréal and trained at the University of British Columbia, he moved from big-mountain and skate filmmaking (Vimeo Staff Pick films Elixir, Restless, Above the Dust) into commercials via the award-winning “Dear Mum” campaign for the Canadian Tourism Commission (DDB Vancouver). Automotive work includes Toyota’s Olympic campaign “Bring It To Life” with Mark McMorris and Ellie Black, Toyota “Fun to Drive,” Hyundai “Fresh Tracks” and “Sea to Sky,” Nissan Rogue “The Night,” Lexus “Letters” for Team One with Michael Murphy’s installation, and Subaru. Athletic marks include Nike, Adidas, Patagonia, Trek Bicycles, TaylorMade Golf, PING “All Hands” with Charles Barkley, and a documentary-style Indian Motorcycles film with Carey Hart. Other clients include Samsung, Heineken, Interac “Van Life,” Intermountain Health “The Power of We,” and PetSmart Super Bowl work. A photographer-turned-director known for energy and scale on hybrid narrative-auto-action boards, he is rostered at Skin and Bones Film (Toronto) and signed with Tool for the U.S. in 2024.
