Michelle Cassis is a Chilean commercial and narrative director based in Madrid. A New York Film Academy graduate in filmmaking and cinematography, she built early work through Triciclo Films in Santiago and a 2017 Canica Films signing before consolidating in Europe. Her breakthrough commercial is IKEA’s “Proudly Second Best” / “Second Best” (2023; DAVID Madrid and INGO Hamburg; Sal Gorda), a parent-and-baby nursery film covered by shots as a sweet, subtle piece in a natural warm home setting; it won a Cannes Lions Gold in Film—reported as the first for a Latin-American woman director—plus Cannes Silver Lions, One Show and Clio Golds, and Ad Age A-List Campaign of the Year. Other award drivers include Cornetto’s Commitment Rings (Cannes Bronze; multiple El Ojo golds) and World Cup-era “The Hidden Flag” (Cannes Titanium shortlist and Lions; El Ojo Grand Prix haul). Brand credits span IKEA, Mondelēz/Milka, Disney, AB-InBev, Danone, Cornetto/Unilever, Pepsi, and Burger King, with purpose pieces such as Peru’s “The Emancipation Loan” and “Shed Skin.” She signed Primo Content for Spain/LATAM in January 2024 and Outsider for the UK in March 2025. Parallel work includes the 2025 Strut Safe short “The Walk” and fashion film Queens of Flesh & Blood.
