Bio & background

Phoebe Arnstein is a London-born writer-director working across commercials, documentary, and narrative film. After nine years in the camera department on features and high-end television including The Crown, Sherlock, The World's End, Mortdecai, and The Infiltrator, she moved into directing. In 2018 she founded Lights, Camera, Power, a Panavision-backed initiative for female directors' technical skills. Commercial work includes EE's 'The Christmas Double' (Saatchi/Publicis via Magna); Huel's 'Every Fire Needs Its Fuel' (Ark); Burger King's 'Bundles of Joy' (BBH London), which earned Creative Circle Gold of Gold and a British Arrows Bronze; Signet/De Beers 'Worth the Wait' (Arnold); British Airways for Uncommon (Pulse Films); Center Parcs 'Together Forever'; David Beckham Fragrances 'Set the Unstandard'; and a Netflix The Witcher S4 promo with Liam Hemsworth. She often integrates her own still photography into film. Her LUSH documentary We the Bathers won Young Directors Award Gold and Spotlight Documentary Gold. Narrative short If You're Happy (2023), starring Erin Doherty, earned Ciclope Bronze, Kinsale Sharks Gold, and 1.4 Awards Gold, made the BIFA Best British Short longlist, streams on Disney+, and is in Film4-backed feature development. In May 2026 she signed to Biscuit Filmworks globally excluding Germany (Zauberberg).
