Ramaa Mosley is a Los Angeles–based commercial, film, and television director and writer who began directing music videos, documentaries, and commercials in her teens. Early recognition included the United Nations Global 500 Award for the documentary We Can Make A Difference; SHOOT later named her one of its Top 10 Female Directors to Watch (2015), and Campaign US listed her as a 40 Over 40 honoree (2024). Commercial work spans sports and empowerment spots (ESPN’s “Band,” Secret with Alex Morgan and Abby Wambach), cinematic lifestyle (Verizon’s “Call Mom”), and the Clio-winning Chevrolet “GoalKeepers” campaign, plus Southwest Airlines, Nike, Adidas, Powerade, Levi’s, Skype, Bank of America, Weight Watchers, Ameritrade, Fujifilm Instax, Samsung, IPSY’s “I Play Beauty,” Visit California’s “Born To Be Wild,” JCPenney, WLDKAT, Tide, and Kinectimals. She directed the Afghanistan segment of Girl Rising and co-launched the U.S. #BringBackOurGirls campaign. Features include dark comedy The Brass Teapot (TIFF premiere, Magnolia release) and Ozarks thriller Lost Child (Best Narrative, Kansas City FilmFest). Via NBC’s Female Forward she moved into episodic TV (Blindspot) and has directed Manifest, Animal Kingdom, The Night Agent, Happy Face, The Cleaning Lady, and S.W.A.T. She founded Laundry Films, co-founded Adolescent Content, and remains rostered for commercials at Station Film.
