Rob Fiocca is a Toronto-based commercial director and photographer specializing in high-end food and tabletop filmmaking. From Fiocca Studio in Toronto’s west end, he has worked more than 25 years, beginning in commercial still photography before moving into motion. Skin and Bones Film calls him arguably Canada’s best food director, citing an avant-garde approach to the table-top space and innovative styling and camera language. Spears & Arrows signed him for U.S. representation in March 2022; founder Jason Wolk described his food spots as full of beauty, drama, and story, with cinematic lighting and camera movement and tools including intricate rigs, Moco, or specialty lenses. Evidenced advertisers include McDonald’s (Breakfast Wrap, McCrispy, McCafe), Subway, Burger King, KFC, Popeyes, LongHorn Steakhouse, Cracker Barrel, Schneiders, National Pork Board, Publix, President’s Choice, Dr. Oetker, Kraft, Kellogg’s, General Mills, Nestlé, Häagen-Dazs, Dannon, Smuckers, Weight Watchers, Buffalo Wild Wings, Del Monte, LCBO, and Williams Sonoma. Craft emphasis includes shot-to-shot storytelling continuity, wide-angle proximity that renders product bigger-than-life, and stills-honed control of light and texture. Roster awards are primarily print and design honors such as ANDY Printed Materials Gold 2016 and LIA Design Gold 2015.
