Rodrigo Valdes is a Mexican-born, Los Angeles-based commercial director working with Superprime Films (US), TEMPO (Germany), and Birth Productions (France/UK). He joined Superprime in August 2021 after co-founding The Maestros, one of Latin America's largest production companies. Valdes has directed campaigns for Mercedes-Benz ("The Magical Garage"), Toyota (Camry, Prius, C-HR), Volkswagen, Honda, Fiat, Coca-Cola, Kahlúa (featuring Salma Hayek), and Topo Chico. His Visit California Super Bowl LVI spot featured Mario Lopez and Anthony Anderson. The Topo Chico "Legends" campaign, shot with Oscar-nominated cinematographer Rodrigo Prieto, earned an ADC Awards Merit Honor for Cinematography. His Kahlúa work won Gold at the British Arrows in 2024. Prior to 2021, he earned three Cannes Lions and two Gold Ciclope awards. Valdes served as 2nd Unit Director on Netflix's "Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F" and completed "A Billion to One," Amazon Studios' action-thriller starring Omar Chaparro, set for December 2025 release. He serves on the Ciclope Festival jury.
