Sam Holst is a Melbourne-born commercial director who studied Communications and Film at RMIT University. He entered advertising with the Transport Accident Commission branded short Swing, a festival piece that made him a finalist for the CFP-E/Shots Young Director Award and earned New Director Showcase slots from Shots and SHOOT. His short Meathead (2011) screened In Competition at the 64th Cannes Film Festival and won the Crystal Bear for Best Short Film at the Berlin Film Festival; in 2014 he joined the Cannes Cinéfondation Residence to develop a debut feature. Commercially, his Pepto Bismol branded short Boy Raised by Goats earned Gold and Silver Clios, a Silver Lion, Gold Epica, and Gold AICP/Clio music honors. The Otrivin campaign (Shoelaces, Classroom Craft) for Saatchi & Saatchi won a Gold Film Lion at Cannes plus Axis, Eurobest, and LIA awards.
