Samona Olanipekun is a commercial and short-form director working with Spy Films (Canada/global), with recent commercial production through ProdCo. He previously signed with RadicalMedia (2020), Steve McQueen’s Lammas Park, and The Visionaries. His reel centers on intimate fashion and brand storytelling, climate and cause work, and sports-adjacent spots, alongside narrative shorts and music films. Key brand credits include Puma’s “Have a Ball” (Dude London / ProdCo), Gucci’s 2021 sustainability film “A Place Of Our Own” for the Off The Grid collection (A Vibe Called Tech), adidas “Move For The Planet,” and Greenpeace’s 2023 seven-minute branded short “Don’t Stop” (Mother / Lammas Park)—a climate fable executive-produced by Steve McQueen and featuring Will Poulter, built around a reimagined Fleetwood Mac track. He has also directed Copa90 content. Craft coverage notes he “avoided bright colours and wanted the lighting to look very natural,” with the camera “mostly used handheld.” LBB called the Gucci spot a “beautifully composed piece of work accompanied by the highest quality of cinematography.” Barbican-commissioned short Kindred (2018) won Best Experimental Film at the 2019 Aesthetica Short Film Festival; the 2024 WePresent short “I and I” stages a dialogue between a man and his personified inner voice. He is developing a debut feature.
