TAO/S are Chinese-American brothers Aaron and Winston Tao, a writing and directing duo whose commercial work centers on heartfelt humanistic storytelling and cinematic craft. After starting as actors, they moved into writing and directing with a split on-set approach: one directs talent while the other works with the DP and production design. Their six-minute SOS International film The Rabbit Hole—following sisters whose dream is shadowed by child sex trafficking—won Silver for Best Direction at Cannes Lions in 2023, Best Direction at AICP, and Ad of the Year in Charity at SHOTS, plus recognition at D&AD, Anthem Awards, and 1.4. They also hold a Cannes Lion for Pedigree with BBDO, silver at the Cannes Young Director Awards for Sleep Well, My Baby, and credits on a viral AdCouncil x McKinney national spot. Sanctuary Content roster work includes Volvo Moving Forward, Ford Cowgirls, Ram I Am Ram, World Vision and Biktarvy anthems, NY Life Leah, and The Learning Lab, with earlier spots for Starbucks, Honda, Superga Supergood, Helen Bamber Foundation, and The Yard Muay Thai. They are rostered at Sanctuary Content (US) and Holiday Films (Canada), with drama short Very Still, Very Quiet premiering on Directors Notes in 2025 and feature Until the Sun Rises in development at Sanctuary.
