Tim Bullock is a Sydney-based commercials director and co-founder of Scoundrel Films (launched 2014 with EP Adrian Shapiro). After corporate recovery at KPMG and eight years as a suit at Saatchi & Saatchi, he entered filmmaking via the Tropfest-winning black comedy short Buried, television directing for Australia’s Seven and Nine networks (including Bryan Brown’s Two Twisted), and co-creating the AFI-nominated advertising parody series :30 Seconds. His commercial reel emphasizes deadpan comedy and story-led work for Columbia (Super Bowl/NEW WORK family: Balloon, Robert vs Crocs, Sauna via adam&eveDDB and Rogue), TikTok’s Festival de Cannes 2025 film Cliff of Love, Toyota HiLux comedies In a Pickle, In The Middle (2023, Saatchi Sydney) and Retrace plus Super Bowl 2020 Highlander Heroes starring Cobie Smulders (Saatchi LA/Ruffian), JetBlue’s Just Alright Doesn’t Fly Here, Canal+ Spitfire and Goal, Specsavers Vet and Fishing (2023), Twix Harmoniser, Tesco Around the Corner, Heaps Normal Stay Normal, AAMI Athletes In The Making, Lotto NZ Armoured Truck, Foster’s Good Call “Harry”, Harvey Nichols Gift Face (2015), and 8 Bar Iced Coffee Eagle Wings (2016). Named CICLOPE Asia Pacific Director of the Year 2025, he has been recognized at Cannes (New Directors Showcase), British Arrows, D&AD and Clio, landed on SHOTS Top 10 Directors and Best Ads on TV’s Director of the Year, placed in the UK APA Top 50 three consecutive years, and is a multiple Australian Directors Guild Award winner for Best Direction in a Television Commercial. He is working with Scoundrel (AU/NZ) and Rogue Films (UK) and is a DGA director.
