Tim Mason is a writer, director, and actor from Kansas City, Missouri, whose commercial practice centers on comedy performance and laughs-first storytelling. A Second City Mainstage alumnus, he co-created the Showtime series Work In Progress and built early credits on comedic shorts that played Fantasia, Dallas International, and Slamdance, where No Other Way To Say It took the Jury Prize for Best Narrative Short. Advertising work has been featured in AdWeek and Creativity Online; he has won two Cannes Gold Lions, with additional Cannes Lions, Jeff Awards, and festival jury recognition cited. He has worked both sides of the aisle—as an agency creative/copywriter (including FCB Chicago-era credits) and as a director. Documented director-side clients include Smartphone Free USA (Let’s Change The Norm, Fearless Mortals/Tessa Films; shots Commercials Best of September 2025), PSEG, GSK, and Uber Eats’ Build Your Own Super Bowl Commercial (Agency Creative Director/Director per AICP/SHOOT). Roster path includes ONE at Optimus, Tessa Films, current representation at Sparks Productions (California), and association with newly formed Squirrel Soup. Clearest signals are comedy-performance direction, dialogue-driven work, cause/PSA, and Super Bowl–adjacent campaign experience.
