Vedran Rupic is a Gothenburg-based director renowned for surrealist, absurdist advertising he describes as "premium weird." Originally from Bosnia, Vedran came to Sweden as a refugee and built a career blending offbeat characters, practical effects, and musical storytelling. He directed the viral Salvatore Ganacci music video trilogy—Horse, Boycycle, and Step-Grandma—which collectively earned over 110 million organic YouTube views. In advertising, Vedran's multi-part KFC "Believe" campaign for Mother London featured a gravy lake baptism and choreographed chicken rituals, winning the Grand Prix for Best Music at Ciclope Festival 2025, Gold at British Arrows, Creative Circle, and Shots, plus honors at Cannes Lions and D&AD. His Twix "Two Is More Than One" spot for adam&eveDDB showcased high-concept car-chase comedy. Vedran also composed original scores for the KFC films, reflecting his background as a music producer. Campaign magazine ranked him the #1 Director of 2025. He works with meticulous, frame-perfect animatics and prefers in-camera practical effects, often building props and rigs himself. Vedran is working with MJZ in the US and UK, Good Oil in Australia and New Zealand, Business Club in Sweden and the UK, and Solab in France.
