Vincent René-Lortie is a Montréal-based director and screenwriter who co-founded Telescope Films in 2016. He signed with The Corner Shop for US and UK/Amsterdam commercials, content, and music videos in November 2021; recent Canadian productions have gone through Denim. His advertising centers on performance-led, long-form emotional films rather than gag comedy. Standout credits include AFSP’s “Talk Away The Dark” (TBWA\Chiat\Day New York / The Corner Shop London), a continuous-shot family drama about suicidal isolation that won Young Director Award Gold in Charity Commercial, and Les Producteurs de lait du Québec / Le Lait’s “Nouvelle Génération” (LG2 / Denim), a cinematic father–daughter dairy-farm short shot on 16mm and featured by LBB. Additional branded work includes OBI’s “Built With Heart,” the UK Department for Education’s “It all starts with skills,” and Foundation for Housing’s “If only you could see the good you do.” Parallel cinema credits include the Oscar-nominated short Invincible (2022) and music-video awards (D&AD Graphite Pencil Best Direction for Simon Leoza’s “La Nuée”; UKMVA 2020 Best Choreography for Sheenah Ko’s “Wrap Me Up”). Craft hallmarks are film origin, continuous-shot camera/light/actor choreography, low-key shadow with soft skin light, and casting-driven intimate performance for heartfelt and cause/PSA brand films.
